First Baby Born at San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital on Girl Scouts’ Birthday Honored

The first local baby born on the 100th Anniversary of the Girl Scouts of American was honored Monday by local Girl Scout Troop 71.

Newborn Chaynie Diane Pittman was born shortly after midnight on March 12, 2012, at San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital. She and her mother, Richall, received a basket full of handmade blankets, Girl Scout cookies, and other goodies from Troop 71.

March 12, 2012, marked the 100 year anniversary of the organization, started by Juliette Gordon Low as a way for girls to develop physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Kaitlyn, a member of Troop 71, presented the basket to Chaynie and Richall.
